|QNI3683 Q-Reg (N.I.) on 2017 Francis Barnett FBCB Electric Bicycle
Under Northern Ireland law all electrically assisted pedal cycles (EAPCs) have to be registered as mopeds to be used on the road.
EAPCs must display a number plate, and be taxed and insured whilst on the road and riders must have a valid moped licence.
An interesting point about these vehicles is that a Q registration is compulsory even when identity and date of manufacture are not in doubt.
