|YM1093 on the Maharajah of Bharatpur's 1925 Rolls-Royce 20HP Cabriolet (Front)
This 20HP Rolls-Royce was built specifically for the Maharajah of Bharatpur and carries a cabriolet body by Windover of London. The body is so heavy for the chassis that Rolls-Royce apparently refused to issue a guarantee for the car. The Maharajah ordered it as a dowry for one of his daughters, but the new husband never collected it. The Maharajah then used it for tiger hunting instead, hence the huge spotlight and outrageous front bumpers.
In 1965 H.R.H Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh rode in this car when he visited a bird sanctuary close to the Maharajah's palace
Registration number YM 1093.
