Custom built from a normal 86" wheelbase Land Rover and painted in 'royal claret', this Series I Land Rover was the first Land Rover State vehicle and is known as 'State IV'.
It was used in 1953/4 on the Queen and Prince Philip's 6-month tour of the Commonwealth and then remained in service until 1974 when the Range Rover took over as the official royal ceremonial vehicle.
